Interactive Weather Map:  from the Weather Channel, an interactive "zoom-able" map of the US.

 

Map Maker from NationalAtlas.gov:  a great tool for creating the exact United States map you need.  Boundaries, ecology, geographical features, population...many options.

 

Microsoft Virtual Earth --Zoom in and on on map, satellite, or combined images of the earth.  Registration isn't required, but by signing up for an account, you can create "Collections" of places for others to view. 

 

National Geographic Maps:  from the best-known name in geography

 

 

National Weather Service:  a radar image of the entire United States. 

 

Wikimapia:  an ambitious wiki project which combines Google maps and Nasa images with information and comments on geographical features.
