Saturn

Saturn

Saturn is the sixth planet from the sun. It is between Jupiter and Uranus. Saturn is the second largest of the eight planets. It is most famous for its thousands of rings. Saturn’s rings, unlike the rings of other planets,  are very bright. They are made up of pieces of dust, rock and ice. Saturn is made of materials that are lighter than water. If you put Saturn in a very large lake, it would float!

The clouds that are seen on Saturn are blown about by winds of almost 1000 miles per hour.  Because of its distance from the sun, it is very cold on Saturn.

A year on Saturn is 29 ½ Earth years. A day is only about 11 hours.
