Uranus

Uranus

Uranus is the 7th planet from the sun.  It is the 3rd largest planet in size.  Uranus is about 4 times the size of Earth. Uranus looks like it is lying on its side.  It takes a very long time to go around the sun once.  A year on Uranus is 84 earth years. A day on Uranus is very quick. It only takes about 17 hours for Uranus to spin around.

Uranus is one of the giant gas planets which is made up of a swirl of gases, liquids and solids.  It has no solid surface to stand on. It does have rings which are made up of graphite. That is like the lead in our pencils.

The temperature of Uranus is about -355 degrees Fahrenheit.  There are winds blowing at over 400 miles an hour.
